The National Bank of Ukraine last week sold $460.31 million in the interbank foreign exchange market, and bought only $2.03 million. This was confirmed by the regulator’s data on Monday, August 7.
The amount of money sold has increased significantly compared to the previous week – more than 350 million dollars.
In total, since the beginning of 2023, the regulator sold $14.74 billion in the interbank market and bought $192.37 million. The negative balance grew to $14.5 billion.
At the same time, on the cash market, the hryvnia strengthened to 37.50 against the dollar and 41.65 against the euro at the end of the week.
It was also reported that Ukrainians sold more dollars in July than they bought. Net sales were $76.6 million per month.
