The second tranche in the amount of $890 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was received in the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine. This was announced on July 3 by the Ministry of Finance.
The funds were received as a result of the successful first revision of the Extended Funding (EFF) program. To date, Ukraine has received $3.59 billion from the IMF. Total funding for the program is $15.6 billion.
“When the EFF program was changed, the experts and the management of the IMF noted the significant progress of the Ukrainian side in the implementation of the structural measures and quantitative performance criteria determined by the program. Thanks to the funds provided, we are able to continue to maintain economic stability in Ukraine and ensure priority spending of the state budget,” he said. Minister of Finance Sergei Marchenko.
It will be recalled that on June 29, the IMF Board of Directors completed the first revision of the extended financing program for Ukraine. The Fund predicts that inflation in Ukraine in 2023 will decrease to 15.5%, while real income will increase by 1%.
