The company’s management is trying to attract the support of European governments and investment in the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector.
Energy company DTEK is preparing for a new heating season and plans to restore 25% of the capacity lost as a result of the massive Russian missile attack. DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said this in an interview with S&P Global.
“We are very active in repairing and bringing in new equipment so that out of 50% of what we lost, we can restore 25%. We have to finish the work in October to be ready for the next winter season,” said Timchenko.
It was noted that the head of DTEK attended a conference on the restoration of Ukraine last week in London to attract the support of European governments and investment in the restoration of our country’s energy sector.
According to Maxim Timchenko, “green” energy plays an important role in the restoration of Ukraine.
“I think it can be a driving force for development for the whole country and the economy. Ukraine has great potential for the development of renewable energy – solar, wind and biofuels,” he stressed.
It can be recalled that since September last year, DTEK power plants have been attacked more than 30 times. Since the beginning of the war, electrical engineers have 23 times “raised from scratch” thermal power plants after shelling and continue their work. Within five months of this year, more than 1.2 billion hryvnias have already been invested in the arrangement of the TPP.
It was also reported about DTEK’s plans to carry out post-war reconstruction of the energy infrastructure in the areas around Kyiv by building an “intelligent” power grid Smart Grid.
