The Opel brand on Monday, June 26, presented a new version of its “Lightning” (Opel Blitz) emblem. Officially, the new emblem will be presented to the public at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich, and the new logo will appear on cars in 2024, the press service of Stellaantis concern reports.
“Today, our Lightning is more relevant than ever. It is not only a symbol of our commitment to the democratization of innovation and mobility, but also a manifestation of our ambition to become an all-electric brand in Europe by 2028. This year, our lineup will include 15 electrified models, so we can say more loudly and proudly that Opel is an electrified and charged brand,” commented Frolan Hetl, CEO of the Opel brand, in the logo update.
In turn, Mark Adams, vice president of the Opel brand for design, spoke in more detail about the logo changes.
“A sharp and confident lightning bolt crosses the support ring, giving our emblem a progressive and modern look. The logo is placed at the center of the Opel Compass composition, which is our main graphic design principle for new model of the brand. Formed by the intersection of vertical and horizontal lines, this design compass is the basis of our design which is the front of the car, the design of the back, as well as interior elements,” he said.
