Construction at Baykar’s local subsidiary in Ukraine, Avia Ventures, is proceeding according to plan.
Turkish company Baykar expects to start production of Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci combat UAV in Ukraine in 2025. This was announced by the CEO of the company Haluk Bayraktor, Yeni Akit wrote.
“Construction work at Baykar’s local subsidiary in Ukraine, Avia Ventures, is progressing as planned, with an opening scheduled for 2025,” he said.
The head of the company noted that the main part of the preparatory work at the plant is already underway. The plant is expected to be electrified in July.
Recall that in August 2022 it became known that the construction of a plant for the production of Bayraktar drones in Ukraine is in the preparatory stage. The project of the plant itself was developed and a land plot was purchased.
After the news about the construction of such a plant, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, threatened that the Russian military would destroy it.
In January of this year, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey, Vasily Bodnar, said that the fighting had made adjustments to the original plans for the plant.
