Roskomnadzor includes 12 hosting providers, including Amazon Web Services, on the list of foreign companies subject to “landing”. This was announced on June 22 by the press service of the department.
The list includes Hetzner Online GmbH, Network Solutions, WPEngine, HostGator.com, Ionos, DreamHost, FastComet, as well as Amazon Web Services, GoDaddy.com, Bluehost, Kamatera and DigitalOcean.
It has already been mentioned according to the law On the activities of foreign persons in information and telecommunication networks on the Internet in the territory of the Russian Federationadopted in July 2021, all foreign hosting providers are required to open a representative office in Russia and post an electronic feedback form to Russian users on their website.
Also, companies must register a personal account on the Roskomnadzor website for immediate contact with the authorities and restrict access to information that violates Russian law.
