The General Assembly will consider three proposals for the election of the host country: South Korea (Busan), Italy (Rome) and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh).
Odessa will not compete for the right to host the international exhibition Expo 2030 in Ukraine. According to the World Expo press service, Busan, Rome and Riyadh will compete for the right to host the event.
“The General Assembly will consider three projects for the election of the host country of the World Expo 2030: the Republic of Korea (Busan), Italy (Rome), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh),” the release said.
It is understood that the final winner will be determined in November 2023.
It will be recalled that in September last year, Ukraine officially submitted a registration dossier to the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris (BIE) to participate in the competition for the right to host the World Expo 2030 in Odessa.
The Expo exhibition takes place every five years. The competition for the cities that want to host the event starts almost ten years before the date of the event.
The last World Expo was held in 2020 in Dubai under the slogan Connecting Minds, Creating the Future. Expo 2025 will take place in Osaka, Japan, with the main theme of Creating a Future Society for Our Lives.
