The Ukrainian company has already introduced some strict anti-corruption mechanisms for further control over the use of donor funds.
DTEK Group has engaged the renowned auditing firm KPMG to develop a system for monitoring international aid for the restoration of Ukraine’s war-torn energy industry. This was reported by the press service of DTEK on Tuesday, June 20.
It was learned that since the beginning of the war, DTEK has received $11 million worth of donor aid and equipment from foreign energy companies.
In addition, the company received assurances of another $45.7 million through the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, the Energy Community Secretariat and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to repair power plants and grid infrastructure.
DTEK has already implemented some strict anti-corruption mechanisms to further control the use of these funds. The agreement gives KPMG the opportunity to take a closer look at these internal processes and draw conclusions from the analysis.
“DTEK’s international partners provide valuable support, and we strive to keep the light open during this war. DTEK has zero tolerance for any form of corruption, and our partnership with KPMG builds trust in DTEK’s relations with donors,” said DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.
“KPMG is committed to supporting Ukraine, its public and private sectors, as well as the international donor community, to contribute to the recovery processes in Ukraine. We are happy to share our knowledge and best international experience to restore the energy sector of Ukraine. ,” the press service quoted the words of KPMG partner in Ukraine Oleksiy Yankovsky.
As reported, in May, DTEK electrical engineers restored electricity to nearly 400,000 families in three regions of Ukraine.
Also last month, DTEK launched a new wind farm, which began operating in the Mykolaiv region, 100 kilometers from the front line.
