The Rovno NPP was successfully inspected by the IAEA for the presence of undeclared nuclear materials.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) successfully conducted an inspection of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant as part of an agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA in relation to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. This was reported by the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation.
The audit took place from 10 to 16 June. The inspection was carried out by the Agency’s inspectors with the participation of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspector.
“The purpose of the inspections is to check the absence of undeclared nuclear materials and information on the design of the nuclear installation, which was provided by Ukraine in accordance with the agreement. There were no comments from the IAEA inspectors,” the SINRU noted.
It will be remembered that, the previous day, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi visited the temporarily occupied Zaporozhye NPP. He emphasized that it is necessary that the water level in the pond for cooling the ZNPP is at a sufficient level after the destruction of the Kakhovskaya dam by Russian troops.
