Strawberry producers in Ukraine raised sales prices for their products by an average of 28%.
Since the beginning of this week, garden strawberries (strawberries) on Ukrainian farms have increased in price by an average of 28%, now selling prices for berries are 40-80 UAH/kg, depending on batch quality and quantity. This was reported by EastFruit.
Market operators call the main reason for the price increase unstable and low volume supplies of Ukrainian berries, because due to weather conditions, many gardeners could not start harvesting strawberries.
At the same time, the increase in prices in this segment is facilitated not only by the reduction in the supply of local berries in the Ukrainian market, but also by the demand, which remains at a relatively high level.
At the same time, as analysts note, today the price of strawberries in Ukraine is on average 14% higher than the same period last year.
But most of the main players of the market do not eliminate that after the stabilization of weather conditions and as a result of the increase in the supply of strawberries, the price in this segment can significantly decrease.
Recall that last week wholesale prices for strawberries in Ukraine reached 30-65 UAH/kg.
