The recall is related to a problem with gasoline engines that can leak engine oil or fuel vapors.
Ford is recalling more than 125,000 Escape SUVs, Maverick pickups and Lincoln Corsair SUVs because fluid can leak from their engines, which could lead to fires. This was reported by CNN.
The recalled vehicles are hybrid or plug-in hybrid versions (can be recharged from a regular home outlet or from a special charger).
Due to a problem with 2.5-liter gasoline engines, engine oil or gasoline vapors can leak, which can ignite when they come into contact with hot parts in the car’s engine compartment.
Since cars are hybrids and have electric motors as well as gas engines, it is possible for someone to continue driving even if the engine breaks down, however, this will make the problem worse.
The recall applies to Escape models from 2020 to 2023, Maverick models from 2022 to 2023. and Corsair models from 2021 to 2023.
Earlier, Tesla recalled 1.1 million cars in China due to identified software problems. And Hyundai and Kia have recalled more than 570,000 vehicles sold in the US because of the risk of a short circuit.
