Such a complex political decision as the revision of the electricity tariff was carefully prepared for the population, assured Aleksey Ryabchin.
Among the population of Ukraine, the number of people in need of subsidies will increase in connection with the electricity tariff revision. The mechanism for obtaining such compensation should be made as convenient as possible. Oleksiy Ryabchin, Advisor to the Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine, said this on Monday, June 5.

He ensured that such a complex political decision as electricity tariff revision was well prepared for the population. The National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities (NEURC) provided calculations that were discussed in meetings and then approved by the government.
“I am sure that these calculations were carried out, because such decisions cannot be made without them,” said Ryabchin.
He assured that people who cannot pay the new tariff will receive subsidies.
“There is something to be done, what we see, there are several tasks in the various ministries involved in the verification of subsidies, the digitalization of these things, that is, to make it convenient as much as possible,” he said.
The prime minister’s adviser emphasized the need to create a more convenient system for providing subsidies.
“In order not to walk around with papers, I think we have to do it in a humane, modern way, so that people can claim these payments,” he summarized.
As you know, on May 30, the government decided to increase the electricity tariff for the population to UAH 2.64 per kWh from June 1. Previously, Ukrainians paid UAH 1.44 per kWh if they consumed less at 250 kWh per month, and UAH 1.68 per kWh if more than 250 kWh per month is consumed.
Later, the Ministry of Energy explained the need to increase the tariff for electricity in Ukraine.
