In January-May, the deficit of the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine for 5 months of the year reached 401.9 billion Hryvnia, in May – 91.3 billion. This was said by the head of the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada Roksolana Pidlasa, Interfax-Ukraine reports on Friday, June 2.
“Although the budget deficit is large, the situation is manageable. Together with the government, we continue to work with our international partners, providing sufficient amounts of credit assistance to fill the deficit,” said Pidlasa.
According to him, the expenses of the general fund reached UAH 1.143 trillion, including UAH 277.4 billion in May.
Receipts of the general fund of the state budget reached 1.481 trillion. Of these, UAH 723.8 billion (or almost half) – from external sources, from internal – UAH 757.4 billion.
In May, the receipts of the general fund of the state budget amounted to UAH 328.3 billion, of which internal resources – UAH 209.2 billion, external – UAH 119.1 billion.
“In May, tax revenues almost for the first time in recent times exceeded external borrowings. Tax authorities collected UAH 101.2 billion, external borrowings amounted to UAH 73.4 billion, the domestic borrowings (government bonds) – UAH 68.6 billion, a grant from the United States – UAH 45.7 billion, as well as revenues administered by customs authorities – UAH 29.6 billion,” said Pidlasa.
Recall that since the beginning of the war, the amount of international support for financing the budget of Ukraine has exceeded $50 billion. Last week, Ukraine received another tranche of 1.5 billion euros from the EU.
Earlier, the EBRD called for the necessary amount of investment for the rapid recovery of Ukraine in the next five years.
