Most consumers were left without power dozens of times due to enemy attacks, the company said.
In May, DTEK power engineers resumed electricity supplies to 384,000 families in Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions. The outage left people without power, the company reported Thursday, June 1.
Areas near the front line suffered the most from Russian attacks. In May, experts resumed the operation of power grids for 361,000 families in the Donetsk region and almost 17,000 families in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Also, due to the drone attack in the Odessa region, power engineers resumed power supply to more than 6,000 households.
“Our task is to give residents and critical infrastructure as much light as possible under conditions of regular shelling. For more than a year of a massive war, we restored light to more than 7 million families in Kiev, Odessa , Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk regions and the capital. Most of them – We have lost electricity dozens of times due to enemy attacks,” said the CEO of DTEK networks Alexander Fomenko.
Earlier, DTEK estimated the losses of power grids in the Kyiv region from the Russian invaders. Their full recovery requires additional international technical assistance and investment.
Also in May, DTEK launched a new wind farm, which began operating in the Mykolaiv region.
