In the past two days, without explanation, Russia has registered for inspection only one entry vessel in the port of Chernomorsk.
The Joint Coordinating Center (JCC) in Istanbul announced the impossibility of drawing up an inspection plan for June 1 due to another unjustified refusal of the Russian delegation to register the incoming fleet for participation in the grain initiative. This was announced on Thursday by the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
So, in the last two days, May 30 and 31, Russia, without explanation, registered for the inspection of only one entry vessel in the port of Chornomorsk, at a time when other parties to the SKC confirmed 10 vessels for three ports to participate in the Black Sea Initiative.
“The destructive position of Russia and the lack of registered ships for inspection make it impossible to draw up an inspection plan for today, of which all parties have been notified by the SKC Secretariat. 50 ships waiting in line for inspection in the territory. Turkish waters, which should be filled with 2.4 million tons of food for the world. This is almost twice what was exported in May, “said the report.
It is known that some vessels have been waiting for more than three months for SKC inspection. This is more than a $1 billion loss, reflected in the final cost of food for the world.
The ministry emphasized that blocking the registration of a new incoming fleet, as well as blocking the largest port of Yuzhny, is a serious violation of the terms of the grain initiative, which is also signed by the Russian Federation.
“The Ukrainian delegation sent a letter to the SKC secretariat with a request to continue full work consisting of 3 inspection teams and 9 inspections per day, as required by SKC procedures. Ukrainian inspectors are in SKC is now and ready immediately. start work if the registration of ships is resumed,” – assured the ministry.
In just 10 months of work of the grain initiative, more than 30.5 million tons of products of Ukrainian farmers were exported.
“The sabotage and suppression of the work of the Russian delegation to the SCC has been going on for seven months, as a result of which the world has not received at least 20 million tons of food,” summarized the Ministry of Restoration.
Recall, on May 17, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia agreed to extend the grain agreement for another two months – until July 18. During its operation, more than 30 million tons of food have been- export by sea.
But after some time, the UN said that the grain agreement was not fully functional.
