The allocated funds will be used to support the state budget, in particular, social and humanitarian spending.
Ukraine received $1.25 billion in financial support from the United States under the World Bank’s PEACE project. This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmihal in Twitter on Wednesday, May 31.
“The funds will be used to support the state budget, in particular, social and humanitarian spending,” he wrote.
The head of government thanked the United States and the World Bank for their help in the fight against Russian aggressors.
It will be recalled that on April 28, Ukraine received an initial grant from the United States for the same amount.
Recall that since the beginning of the war, the amount of international support for financing the budget of Ukraine has exceeded $50 billion. Last week, Ukraine received another tranche of 1.5 billion euros from the EU.
Earlier, the EBRD called for the necessary amount of investment for the rapid recovery of Ukraine in the next five years.
