The company is engaged in several projects on armored personnel carriers, Hummers and other vehicles and has donated thousands of units of other aid to the army.

Since the beginning of the war, the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which the whole world helps the Ukrainians, have changed significantly. Oleksandr Mironenko, COO of Metinvest, whose company has volunteered for the defenders of Ukraine since the first days of the war, spoke about this on the air of the Direct TV channel.

According to him, at first the company launched its own production of body armor, and now it produces modular shelters and special armor for vehicles.

“We have organized production in our production areas. These are mobile shelters that can be used on the front line as a dugout: they dig underground, cover the forest, soil, and it is a very reliable protection. I was in the positions of the men when we checked, how everything works, and they spoke very well about these shelters. We also make bulletproof vests: we make bulletproof steel in our businesses, and now more than 150,000 bulletproof vests made of steel from Metinvest are helping our defenders,” said Mironenko.

The company is also engaged in several projects with the army group for armored armored personnel carriers, Hummers and other vehicles.

“We manufacture steel, and the military is already assembling these structures directly on equipment at their sites,” he explained.

According to Mironenko, during the war, equipment purchases for soldiers also changed significantly: if at first they were given first-aid kits, drones and EcoFlow charging stations, then military personnel has asked for anti-drone guns and night vision sights.

“We bought and donated more than 1,500 drones. We also bought thermal imagers, EcoFlow – all this help and all other things go, I would say, to thousands of units in the army. But now the emphasis on purchased items has also changed a bit: now we need more anti-drone guns, complexes jamming radio communications to land all these flying drones. We also buy and donated equipment for attack operations – night vision devices, night sights,” said Mironenko.

It can be recalled that Metinvest has already provided 200 corrugated steel modular capsules to hot front areas as part of the Steel Front initiative. When properly installed, they can withstand the shelling of 152-mm shells.

It was also learned that Metinvest sent drones, charging stations and Starlink to Avdiivka as part of the same Steel Front initiative.
