Lending under the 5-7-9 program has been offered to all companies, but so far only a few have agreed.
The government offered loans to energy companies to restore equipment damaged as a result of the Russian invasion. This was reported by the consulting company ExPro, citing its own source in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
“Lending under the 5-7-9 program has been offered to all companies, but so far only a few have agreed,” ExPro said.
In particular, according to the source, DTEK Energy and Kharkiv CHPP-5 agreed.
“We are talking about lending rates of 11-15% per year,” added the consulting company.
ExPro also indicated that some state-owned energy companies are now awaiting damage coverage from state or city budgets.
Recall that the state program of cheap loans 5-7-9% was launched in early 2020. It is intended for small businesses, and the loan assumes a maximum amount of UAH 1.5 million and a period of repayment of up to 5 years. As of November 2021, the volume of loans under this program exceeded UAH 70 billion.
Last week, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, at the beginning of a government meeting, announced the expansion of the 5-7-9% program. “Now it can be used by thermal power plants and thermal power plants to restore war-damaged equipment,” he said.
