The hryvnia continues to strengthen in the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to market monitoring data on Tuesday, May 16.
Today, the dollar exchange rate on sale fell by 5 kopecks – to 37.70 hryvnia per dollar. The euro exchange rate decreased by 10 kopecks to 41.30 hryvnia per euro.
In the cash market, the average dollar exchange rate is:

purchase – 37.25 UAH (37.25 – May 15)

sale – UAH 37.75 (37.75 – May 15) per dollar.
The average euro exchange rate is:

purchase – UAH 40.60 (UAH 40.70 – May 15),

sale – 41.30 UAH (41.40 – May 15) per euro.
The official fixed rate of the NBU is 36.5686 hryvnia per dollar (effective from July 21, 2022). At the same time, the exchange rate of the euro decreased slightly – 39.7702 hryvnia per euro (-0.0585 Hryvnia).
It will be recalled that the situation in the foreign exchange market worsened last week. The NBU doubled the sale of dollars from reserves – up to $535 million.
