Walmart is in hot water because of its ice cream in June.
The retail multinational announced it was reviewing and possibly launching its own ice cream to celebrate the June date after the product went viral on Twitter.
Social media users were outraged at the dessert, which consisted of red velvet flavors and cheesecake.
Many Twitter users condemned the company for enjoying an important holiday, its history, and blacks.
The Walmart ice cream label, which has been widely circulated on social media, says, “Share and celebrate African American culture, empowerment and strong hope.”
The viral tweet of comedian Roy Wood Jr. about the controversial frozen foods criticized the stupidity of the June community brand. “Do you want June ice cream on the June plate when you sip beer at the Unaten coop?” wrote on Twitter.
Other users write, “Very disrespectful and greedy. Always looking for a way to exploit your pockets. @Walmart. ”
Consumers also expressed the fact that Walmart appears to have removed a black proprietary ice cream product called Creamalicious because consumers quickly recognized the large similarities between the items.
Walmart literally saw a successful little black business and they thought they could eliminate stealing their flavor and rename it for Juneteenth.

Although the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed enslaved people, was issued in 1863, there was little application in Texas, meaning that African American slaves in Galveston, Texas were not notified that they were free until June 19, 1865.
Walmart apologized for the product announcement.
“June day is a day of remembrance and celebration of freedom and liberty,” the company told HuffPost. However, we have received feedback that some items have caused concern to some of our customers and we sincerely apologize. We will review our range and deliver items as needed. “
The June date became the official government holiday last year after President Joe Biden signed a bill calling for National Independence Day in June.
A move to strengthen it as a federal holiday has gained prominence after protests over the murder of George Floyd by a white police officer.
