Since the beginning of the year, the NBU bought $97.32 million in the interbank market and sold $9,444.38 million.
During the week from May 8 to 12, the National Bank of Ukraine bought $16.47 million in the interbank foreign exchange market and sold $552.21 million. The negative balance reached 535.74 million dollars. This is confirmed by the data of the regulator.
Thus, the central bank increased the sale of foreign currency by 2.1 times compared to last week, when it sold $258.83 million.
Since the beginning of the year, the NBU bought $97.32 million in the interbank market and sold $9,444.38 million. The negative balance of interventions reached $9,347.05 million.
Recall that in April, the NBU reduced the sale of foreign currency from reserves to the lowest since last summer – to $1,370.4 million. Meanwhile, the reserves themselves reached an 11-year record level.
By the end of 2022, the NBU transferred a record amount to the budget.
