The largest German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall intends to establish production in Ukraine.
The biggest German concern for the production of weapons Rheinmetall plans to produce tanks, air defense, anti-aircraft systems and ammunition in Ukraine. The company’s website reported this.
“Attempts are being made to conclude several cooperation and joint venture agreements with Ukrainian companies in the coming weeks,” Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger said in a statement.
They plan to organize joint ventures for automotive systems, air defense and ammunition.
“Thus, we give Ukraine the opportunity to protect itself in the medium and long term,” said the company’s CEO, noting that investments in new plants will come from the Ukrainian state.
As a specific example, Papperger mentions the well-known plan for the construction of panther-type battle tanks in Ukraine.
Just as the Lynx infantry fighting vehicle is being built at a plant in Hungary, our newly developed Panther main battle tank can roll off the production line at a Ukrainian plant based on a comparative model.
According to the CEO of Rheinmetall, in the next ten years, the demand from Ukraine will be very high.
Earlier it was reported that Rheinmetall planned to produce up to 600 thousand shells per year for Ukraine.
