Grain shippers have been urged to hold back shipping in the direction of the port due to the critical accumulation of wagons.
On the railway in the direction of the port of Izmail, a critical accumulation of wagons with grain was recorded, the queue for unloading was almost a month. This was announced on May 8 by the Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work Ukrzaliznytsia Valery Tkachev.
He noted that the unloading of grains by operators at the port of Izmail has significantly decreased due to weather conditions: the average daily rate is 60-80 wagons per day.
According to him, the queue for unloading is around 27-36 days.
“4,978 loaded wagons are moving in the direction of Izmail, of which 2,168 wagons have cargoes of grain… If possible, we ask you to refrain from sending cargoes of grain in the direction of the port, ” emphasized the representative of the company.
Earlier, the National Bank calculated possible losses from problems in the export of agricultural products.
