The company proposes to increase the capacity of renewable energy sources in Ukraine to 30 GW by 2030.
During the World Economic Forum in Davos, DTEK called on European companies to join the renewable energy development project in Ukraine, the company’s press service reported on Tuesday, May 24th.
“Renewable energy sources are an important part of energy security. DTEK has initiated 30 to 2030 projects, which should be an integral part of the recovery plan for Ukraine and aim to increase the capacity of renewable energy sources in Ukraine up to 30 GW by 2030, ”the report said.
This idea was promoted by the company during the forum in Davos.
“We believe that Ukraine can become a benchmark for renewable technologies through the introduction of new technologies and business models,” the company said.
An important benefit of this initiative is that in the future Ukraine will be able to replace Russia’s energy resources and help the EU redesign its energy security.
“We want to increase the installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Ukraine from the current 9 GW to 30 GW by 2030. This will require billions of investment and EU support. And then all this electricity can be turned into exports to Europe and support Europe, “Maxim Timchenko said.
Earlier, the CEO of DTEK told a forum in Germany how Ukraine would help Europe eliminate energy dependence on Russia.
