Since the beginning of 2023, the flow of liquefied natural gas from terminals to the European gas transmission system is approximately 44.5 billion cubic meters. m.
In April, liquefied natural gas (LNG) flowing from terminals to the European gas transmission system reached a record 12.07 billion cubic meters. m. This was confirmed by the data of the European Network of Gas Transportation System Operators (ENTSOG) on Tuesday, May 2.
It was noted that the previous maximum for April at 10.65 billion cubic meters. m was installed in 2022. But now the record is updated for the entire history of observations for all months.
In total, since the beginning of 2023, LNG receipts from terminals to the European gas transmission system are approximately 44.5 billion cubic meters. m.
This year, LNG leads the share of gas sources in Europe – 31%. In second place with a share of 24% – supplies from the North Sea (mainly Norwegian gas), in third with 22% – the use of gas from EU underground storage facilities.
The share of gas supplies from the east (Russian gas, Ukrainian gas supplies, as well as European companies withdrawing their gas from Ukrainian underground storage facilities) is fell to 6.4%. This is less than that supplied from North Africa (8.6%), but more than from the UK (5.6%).
Recall that a week ago, the European Union started the process of joint purchase of gas AggregateEU, in which Ukraine may also be involved.
