In the first months of this 2023, negative results for the industrial sector continue as eight out of 10 companies have failed to surpass the level of sales they had a year ago, according to an industry opinion poll. National Society of Industry (SNI).
At the same time, 35% of companies claim that they have reduced production volumes, and 48% have kept it at the same level.
According to the SNI survey, this result occurs in the context of lower demand for products, political uncertainty economic and insufficient liquidity.
“The problem of constant work stoppages, social unrest, the uncertainty that all Peruvians are exposed to, has led to a sharp drop in demand, businessmen have no one to sell. Similarly, 60% of businesses indicate that they do not plan to implement attachments in the next six months, only 40% will continue their investment.
In the short term, in the next three months, 58% of companies do not plan to make investments, and 69% will not hire additional staff.
