The government of Ukraine extended the fixed price of electricity for the population for at least another month – until the end of May. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal on Tuesday, April 25.
“The government continues the preferential price for electricity for the population for another month,” he said today in a government meeting.
Now the population pays UAH 1.44 per kWh if they consume less than 250 kWh per month, and UAH 1.68 per kWh if they consume more than 250 kWh per month.
Before this, the Cabinet of Ministers maintained a fixed price for electricity for the population until April 30.
Earlier, the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko said that the change of electricity tariffs can help restore the energy system in the new autumn-winter season.
