Suppliers are requested to take measures for full and timely payment for services to ensure availability of electricity to the population.
Universal service providers (PUS) – ed.) are asking the government of Ukraine, NEURC and the National Security and Defense Council to prevent the collapse of the electricity market as a result of a critical crisis in debt Such an appeal to the authorities was signed by 18 suppliers. It was found out on Wednesday, April 19.
In their letter, the suppliers note that the JI mechanism – the provision of a preferential electricity tariff for the population – is not working due to the failure of other participants in this mechanism to fulfill their financial obligations, namely that, Energoatom, Guaranteed Buyer and Ukrhydroenergo .
It is stated that the total settlement rate of Guaranteed Buyers in PSP under the JI mechanism for March this year is less than 15%.
“A situation arises when the FSP no longer has funds to purchase electricity for the needs of the population in other market segments in the absence of JI financing, which leads to the forced purchase of this volume in balancing the market in high price,” the letter said.
PMU representatives believe that without the immediate intervention of the authorities and review of the PSO mechanism, there is a real threat of bankruptcy of electricity suppliers and the collapse of the electricity supply system for the population, which will also neutralize the all efforts of power engineers. to maintain energy stability in an all-out war.
Earlier, the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko said that the revision of electricity tariffs could help restore the energy system in the new autumn-winter season.
As you know, in March the government extended the tariffs until at least April 30 this year.
