It was noted that the decision to allocate a second support package for farmers in five EU countries will be made in the coming days. In this case, Poland will receive approximately 30 million euros.

The European Commission takes this step after the decision of Poland, Hungary and Slovakia to ban the import of agricultural products from Ukraine. Bulgaria is considering a similar decision.

At the same time, the EC is negotiating with Poland and Hungary about banning grain imports from Ukraine.

The money for the financial support of farmers will come from the EU budget, from the anti-crisis reserve. Five countries will have the opportunity to double this amount through subsidies from the national budget.

The European Commission is expected to propose measures to ensure that the transfer of grain from Ukraine reaches its destination, ie Africa, and is not delayed in Ukraine’s neighboring countries.

“The speculative pathology needs to be eliminated. Systemic solutions are needed,” said one of the EU diplomats.

According to him, one of the proposals in an emergency situation could be, for example, the establishment of a temporary restriction for the transit of Ukrainian grain intended for Africa to leave the EU.

The first package of measures worth 56 million euros in aid to Poland, Bulgaria and Romania was agreed by EU member states at the end of March.

Notably, the head of the Verkhovna Rada’s committee on monetary policy, taxes and customs, Daniil Getmantsev, said that Ukraine will suffer huge losses due to the embargo on the export of its agricultural products to neighboring countries. EU country.

Up to 20% of all agricultural products from Ukraine are exported through Poland and Hungary.
