Slovakia will become a transit country only in solidarity with Ukraine, Bratislava said.
Slovak authorities have expanded the list of products prohibited for import from Ukraine. Aktuality wrote this following a government meeting on Monday, April 17.

“In addition to grain, we will not import corn, alcohol, sugar, fruit or vegetables. The ban is in effect until further notice,” the message said.
It is noted that this list is subject to change. It does not yet include products of animal origin that have not yet been banned by the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture.
“Poland agreed to a strict ban and we had to respond to protect the Slovak market,” Agriculture Minister Samuel Vlchan said.
He assured that, unlike Poland, Slovakia will only be a transit country as a sign of unity.
Earlier it became known that Poland stopped importing agricultural products from Ukraine, while emphasizing that this decision does not change the country’s position in supporting the country in the war with Russia.
Hungary made a similar decision, but this country promises to maintain the transit of Ukrainian agro-industrial products through its territory.
