The Alaska LNG project, worth about $39 billion, is scheduled to launch in 2030.
US President Joe Biden’s administration has approved the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Alaska as part of the Alaska LNG project. This was reported by Reuters on April 13, citing a document from the US Department of Energy.
It was noted that the department approved the Alaska Gasline Development Corp (AGDC) project to export gas to countries with which the United States does not have a free trade agreement.
The $39 billion Alaska LNG is scheduled to be launched in 2030. Its capacities include a plant on the Kenai Peninsula and a pipeline with a length of about 1.3 thousand km.
According to the agency, the US authorities mainly plan to export LNG to Asian countries against the backdrop of competition with Russia.
It was previously reported that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will seek a solution on how to stop the import of liquefied petroleum gas from Russia to the Baltic countries, which will more than double by 2022.
