Of its total production, Apple exported $5 billion worth of iPhones during India’s fiscal year that ended in March, nearly four times the amount of the previous period.
Perhaps, the company will try to produce the next iPhones in India at the same time as China in the fall of 2023. This will be the first time that the iPhone assembly will start simultaneously in the two countries.
The publication states that if the expansion of suppliers continues, by 2025 Apple could assemble a quarter of all its smartphones in India.
Earlier it was reported that Apple’s partner, the Taiwanese company Foxconn, will build a plant for the production of components for the iPhone in the Indian city of Bangalore.
The AirPods maker said it wants Apple suppliers to leave China to avoid the consequences of escalating tensions between the US and China.
