The World Bank made the largest contribution among all donors to Ukraine, Andriy Pyshny said.
Since the start of the massive invasion, the World Bank has been able to mobilize international partners and help Ukraine receive nearly $20 billion. This was announced by the head of the National Bank Andriy Pyshny on Facebook on Thursday, April 13.
He recalled that yesterday at a joint meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the leadership of the World Bank – President David Melpas and Managing Director Anna Bjerde – an additional $200 million was announced for our country to restore energy.
“In the year since the start of the Russian military aggression, the World Bank has already mobilized international partners and helped Ukraine receive almost $20 billion. This is the largest contribution among donors,” Pyshny said.
The head of the NBU noted that Ukraine continues to rely on maintaining the leading role of the World Bank in coordinating the attraction of international financial support and the implementation of projects that will help restore Ukraine.
“In particular, during the meeting, they discussed an important area of work as the development of a comprehensive insurance system of military-political risks. The system is now needed to develop the requirements for economic recovery and attraction in investment. The National Bank is actively involved in this process, we already have a system concept and we are working with international experts to improve it,” said Pyshny.
Earlier, the World Bank announced additional grant funding for Ukraine in the amount of $2.5 billion.
It was also reported that the World Bank will allocate $50 million to repair roads and bridges in Ukraine.
