As a result of the suspect’s actions, Delta Bank lost assets of approximately UAH 897 million.
The prosecutor’s office sent two cases to the court against the former owner of PJSC Delta Bank, who is suspected of owning other people’s property and tax evasion in the amount of more than 33 million hryvnias. The Office of the Prosecutor General reported this on Tuesday, April 11.
The investigation established that during 2012-2013 the defendant, who held the position of chairman of the supervisory board of Delta Bank, with the participation of other officials, organized the illegal conclusion of an agreement on the line of credit and additional agreements with a regulated legal entity. As a result, the bank lost assets of approximately UAH 897 million.
The chairman of the board of directors, the head of one of the banking departments and the director of the company, who were accomplices, were placed on the wanted list.
In addition, in the tax reporting for 2015, the defendant did not show his own income in the amount of UAH 153 million received from a foreign company as a result of contractual relations. Accordingly, he avoided paying personal income tax and military duty in the total amount of more than 33 million Hryvnias.
At the same time, the pre-trial investigation continues into other facts that caused the bank’s bankruptcy. It is conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police.
The Prosecutor General’s office did not name the defendant, but the suspect is Nikolai Laguna. In December 2019, the court seized assets belonging to the former owner of Delta Bank in the case of the Deposit Guarantee Fund.
It was also reported that Lagoon will repay the loan to Oschadbank in 27 thousand years.
