The Easter holidays are a key date for tourism and despite the social conflicts that caused the road blockade, the sector is already recovering.

Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mr.Minchetur) notes that in some cases it is already visible that the passenger occupancy reaches 100%

“In the understanding that we must promote the reactivation of tourism, and the one that reacts most quickly is domestic, I can inform you that in several regions we have three-star hotels with 60 to 70% occupancy, the rest at 100%, Luis Helguero, holder of the Minsetur, said.

The Minister noted that the campaign for the date is intensifying as it is expected that “we will have the largest number of visitors in all of Peru, including Lima during the holidays.” Easter”.

Similarly, Helguero noted that one of the regions already seeing a recovery is Cusco.

“In the case of Cuzco, he has been recovering quickly for more than a month and he has many directions, this is part of the strategy at PromPerú and Minchetur”, he commented.

On the other hand, the minister asked land and air transport companies to provide promotional rates for this long holiday with the aim of helping the regions “so that the public can visit them and show solidarity with the tourism sector.”
