The export of electricity will allow the entry of more expensive markets and attract additional funds for the energy system of Ukraine.
The steady growth of electricity production in Ukraine creates its surplus and makes export possible. This was said by Vladimir Yegorov, General Director of Centrenergo, in an interview for Delo.ua.
He noted that due to a stable surplus, the issue of electricity export is being actively considered by the Ministry of Energy and Ukrenergo.
“Now we have a seasonal decrease in consumption, at the same time, the generation of nuclear power plants, solar and hydro generation is increasing. There is definitely a surplus in the system and export is possible,” explained Yegorov.
He said that exporting electricity would allow entry into more expensive markets and it would attract additional funding to the energy system.
Recall that in recent weeks, the energy system of Ukraine has been working on a power reserve. At the same time, Ukrenergo announced an “unprecedented” rate of repair of damaged energy infrastructure facilities.
It was also reported that the Verkhovna Rada proposed to continue the export of electricity to the EU.
