The Vol. Cynthia Lumis (R-Wyo.), In her keynote speech Saturday at the University of Wyoming, was harshly criticized after saying it was a “basic scientific fact” that only men and women could exist.
“There are those in government who do not believe that the Creator gave us inalienable rights … but the government created those rights,” Lumis said in a statement. “And the government must redefine these rights, including our rights to speech, religion, property, assembly and possession of weapons. Even basic scientific facts – such as the existence of two sexes, male and female – are difficult these days.
After the last sentence, the students started shouting and joking – and continued for about 30 seconds as Lumis smiled on stage.

The conservative Republican at first seemed to back away from their criticisms, but then he seemed to think it through better.
“And I’ll challenge you,” Lumis began before exchanging. “I don’t comment on the fact that there are people moving between the sexes.”
“Hey, you!” A shout from a student was heard.
He then resumed his prepared expressions, with a slight hum.
Lummis later Sorry – Not for what he said, but for potential insult to those who disagree with his statements.
“My definition of same-sex existence is intended to highlight the moment we found each other, the moment when biological sexual metrics were taken into account and had a potential impact on the overall value of equality- equal to Wyoming, ”he said in a statement. “One of our speakers made comments about biological sex, which annoyed many on campus,” Seidel said, referring to the speech the previous day. “While we respect the right of everyone to express their views, from students to elected officials, we clearly state that UW is an institution that supports and celebrates its diverse communities, which together makes us a beautiful place.
