The income of Ukrainian banks in January-February 2023 amounted to almost UAH 21.5 billion, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period in 2022 (UAH 9.9 billion). This was reported by the press service of the National Bank on Tuesday, March 21.

The regulator noted that the income of banks for two months increased by 33% – up to UAH 65.8 billion, and expenses – by 12%, up to UAH 44.3 billion.
At the same time, fee and commission income doubled to UAH 15.582 billion.
At the same time, the result from revaluation and purchase and sale operations increased 2.4 times – up to UAH 4.649 billion against UAH 1.9 billion for the same period last year.
At the same time, deductions in reserves decreased by 2.3 times – to UAH 2.517 billion, and commission expenses – by 11.9%, to UAH 7.5 billion.
Recall that by the end of 2022, the total income of Ukrainian banks decreased three times – to UAH 24.7 billion – compared to the record year 2021.
At the same time, the rating in terms of profitability is led by the state-owned PrivatBank, which earned UAH 30.2 billion.
