Gazprom supplies natural gas to Moldova in a total volume of 176.7 million cubic meters per month.
Moldova resumed gas purchases from Russia’s Gazprom in March after a break of about three months. This is what the Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz Vadim Cheban said, Reuters reports.
“In March of this year, based on the current contract, Gazprom provides natural gas supplies to Moldova in the total volume of 176.7 million cubic meters per month or 5.7 million cubic meters per day,” he said.
According to Cheban, the decision to continue buying gas for electricity until the end of March was made, because the price of Gazprom is almost the same as that announced by the internal supplier Energocom this month.
It will be remembered that in November last year, Moldova for the first time in history imported natural gas by reversing its system from west to east.
Since December 2022, Moldova has completely abandoned the consumption of Russian gas. Gazprom supplied gas only to the unknown Transnistria.
Moldova consumed gas purchased by the state enterprise Energocom on the stock exchange and stored in Romania and Ukraine.
Moldova said it would sue Gazprom
