In the past week, farmers sowed 66.6 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops, with the Ternopil region taking the lead.
The sowing campaign has started in Ukraine. The work is carried out in 10 regions, reports the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on Friday, March 17.
It is indicated that in the last week, farmers sowed 66.6 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops, the leaders were agricultural producers of the Ternopil region with 20.4 thousand hectares.
In total, since the beginning of this sowing campaign, all categories of farms have sown 82.7 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops, of which 26 thousand hectares are spring wheat, 44.2 thousand hectares are spring barley, 12 thousand hectares are peas and 0, 5 thousand hectares – oats.
More grain and leguminous crops were sown by the farmers of the Odessa region – 34.3 thousand hectares.
It was previously reported that by 2023 the sown area in Ukraine will decrease by 7 million hectares – to 29 million hectares – and will change its structure.
It is also predicted that this year the total yield of grain crops in Ukraine will decrease by 60% in 2021, oilseeds – by 15%.
