The National Administration of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) has extended tax liability for up to three months in rain-affected areas.
Taxpayers, both individuals and legal entities, from areas declared under a state of emergency will have this additional time to file tax returns and make related payments.
As noted Sunatthis advantage will allow them to recover and continue their commercial activities to support the economic recovery of their regions.
For this, Supreme Decrees No. 30-2023-PKM, No. 34-2023-PKM and No. 36-2023-PKM are taken into account, which declared a state of emergency in various districts of the city. Arequipa, Tumbes, Piura, Lambaeque, La Libertad and Lima.
As a reminder, the income tax return expiration schedule began this month, but now the dates will be different for the most affected areas.
Two types of extension
Sunat specifies that there will be two types of extension for taxpayers:
1. Declarations and monthly payments for tax periods from February to June can be declared from June to August 2023.
2. Submission of the annual income statement, which is sold between March and April, can be done until June 2023.
With all types of expansion schedule repayment period based on the last digit of each taxpayer’s RUC,” adds Sunat.
For new dates and other concerns, taxpayers can contact the Sunat Call Center at 0-801-12-100 or 315-0730.
