The company has begun a “smooth exit process” from the Russian market due to the armed aggression in Ukraine.
The German concern that Siemens has left the Russian market due to the Russian Federation’s full invasion of Ukraine. This is stated in the company’s statement, published on May 12.
Siemens noted that after the start of the war in Ukraine, the company suspended all new operations and international deliveries to the Russian Federation and Belarus. International sanctions and potential measures affect its activities in Russia, in particular, the maintenance and repair of the railroad.
As noted by the company’s CEO Roland Bush, Siemens decided to conduct a smooth exit process in the Russian market.
“We condemn the war in Ukraine and decided to follow an orderly process to end our industrial activities in Russia. This is not an easy decision, given our responsibility to protect our employees and our long -standing relationship with customers in a market we’ve had for nearly 170 years. ”We value the impact on our people, and we will continue to support them to the best of our ability. At the same time, we provide humanitarian assistance to our colleagues and people of Ukraine and support the international community in the call for peace, ”he stressed.
Recall that Siemens Energy is one of the main suppliers of electrical equipment in the Russian Federation. So far, two separate companies are represented in the Russian market – Siemens at Siemens Energy.
