The new president of the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (Confiep), Alfonso Bustamante Canni, on Wednesday, March 8, reaffirmed the need to put the citizen at the “center of the national interest.”

IN News ExtensionThe head of the institution noted that in recent years, the nationwide discussion and agenda has been focused on political issues such as changing the Constitution and advancing elections as recent issues, and the citizen has been left out.

“We proposed to place the citizen at the center of national interests. I think we have had a very politicized agenda in recent years, but the discussion and the agenda should be focused on the citizen,” he said.

In this sense, Bustamante He noted that his leadership will focus on proposing initiatives to promote joint work between the public and private sectors to close gaps and remove bureaucratic obstacles.

“I have identified the issue of sanitation as one of the major issues affecting the dignity of the citizen, and we have found that there are very big obstacles in the development of this. We were looking for obstacles, not money; the state treasury is full,” he said.

“Closing the gaps requires collaboration between the private and public sectors. Closing the gaps, entrusted only to the public sector, is utopian, and we see that it is going very slowly; and by doing this only the private sector would not reach the resources,” he added.

Finally, he announced that trust worked with the Peruvian Institute of Economics (IPE) on analysis and proposals to address the lack of sanitation in the regions of the country.

“There are many solutions, one of them is tax work. Confiep’s job will be to coordinate with the private sector to focus on this sector,” he said.

Alfonso Bustamante became the new President of Confiep.

Alfonso Bustamante was unveiled yesterday as the new President of the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (Confiep). At a ceremony held at the institution’s headquarters, he hailed the government’s progress in sanitizing the country and expressed his union’s support for closing the gap.

“Starting with Confiep, we will work purposefully with the public and private sectors to remove barriers to development and close gaps,” Bustamante said in his speech.

Alfonso Bustamante called “extremists” those who continue to protest against Government and noticed that this does not help the country at all.

“These groups do not propose solutions and are not interested in the citizen; However, today they manage the agenda of Peru, let’s put the citizen at the center of the agenda, the violence must stop, we regret all the deaths and it is the young people who are unfortunately being used as cannon fodder in these acts of vandalism,” he said .

On the other hand, he pointed out that in order to avoid a repetition of Odebrecht’s corruption in the country Confiep has signed an Integrity Pact and a Code of Conduct among its members., which will be strengthened during his reign. In addition, Bustamante emphasized that Peruvian companies of any size are the engine of the economy and contribute to social development.

“It is not true that a market economy is beneficial only to a few, as this is the thesis of those who want to destroy the system, since we applied the social market model, GDP grew 3.7 times, and tax collection grew 31 times, that is, today the state has resources “, – he said.
