In the future, the land will be leased through electronic auctions, explained Rustem Umerov.
The State Property Fund (SPF) has concentrated 200 thousand hectares of agricultural land in the past six months and plans to increase the land bank to 300 thousand hectares by the end of the year. This will allow the department to become one of the largest owners of state land, said Rustem Umerov, head of the fund, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Wednesday, March 1.
According to him, in the future these lands will be leased through electronic auctions.
Umerov recalled that three years ago a land reform began in Ukraine, according to which, from 2024, the land market will be open to foreigners.
In the near future, the state plans to sell assets in the field of agriculture, in particular, plants for processing agricultural products. Among the objects are production assets, real estate, trade enterprises, added the head of the fund.
“Now there is an active discussion about the future fate of state properties – to sell them or leave them under management. But, despite the opinion that not everything should be privatized, at this stage it was decided that 95% of state-owned enterprises will be privatized or liquidated through the bankruptcy procedure after the adoption of the relevant bills,” Umerov commented.
Earlier it was reported that almost 110 thousand land transactions were completed in Ukraine. In terms of land area, in respect of which transactions are registered, Kharkiv region, Dnepropetrovsk region, Kherson region, Kirovohrad region, Poltava region are leading.
