State business plans include the production of 200 thousand tons of complex fertilizers in six months.
PAO Sumykhimprom a phased recovery has begun after the forced shutdown of operations last year due to military actions by the Russian Federation. This was announced on February 28 by the press service of the enterprise.
It was noted that due to the impact of shells on the territory of the plant and the damage to individual objects, it was idle for a long time.
“We have completed the restoration, overhaul and in April we are launching the main business workshops. The whole technological cycle will start working. We are fully loading the workshops for the production of mineral fertilizers, pigment and sulfuric acid production,” said the executive director Sumykhimprom Volodymyr Volkov at a meeting of the Union of Chemists of Ukraine.
He clarified that in April the plant will be able to produce 20-25 thousand tons of fertilizers per month, with a gradual increase in volumes up to 35 thousand tons per month, about 1800 tons of titanium dioxide and 35-40 thousand tons of sulfuric acid.
According to the head of the business, a significant package of orders has already been formed for the coming months.
“This is a matter of the country’s food security. We must fulfill the production plan, which provides for the production of more than 200,000 tons of complex fertilizers in six months,” stressed Volkov.
He added that too Sumykhimprom there are no plans to narrow the range of fertilizers offered to farmers.
PJSC Sumykhimprom is one of the largest Ukrainian enterprises for the production of complex mineral fertilizers, titanium dioxide, sulfuric acid and other types of inorganic chemistry products.
It is one of three budget-generating enterprises in Sumy city and Sumy region and produces more than 30 brands of NPK fertilizers.
