After the resumption of small privatization under the new law in September last year, the state budget received an average of about UAH 470 million per month, and in total last year, the state got UAH 1.7 billion from small privatization auctions.
The most expensive objects sold at the auction, for which funds have already been received this year, are Ust-Danube port (UAH 201 million), Vlasta hotel in Lviv (UAH 115 million), Storonibab distillery (UAH 142 million) and Zhovtnevy distillery ( UAH 85 million). UAH).
“I am very pleased with the success of the State Property Fund. First, privatization stimulates business activity, because state-owned facilities are good platforms for starting and transferring a business (they have communications and infrastructure), and the state objectively does not have the resources for today’s modernization of old state-owned companies. Second, the proceeds from privatization cover the state budget deficit and are mainly directed to the needs in defense. Therefore, we hope that there will be many privatization auctions in 2023 and that they will be successful,” Pidlasa said.
