The company recalled that after Russia’s first massive attack on energy infrastructure, Ukraine stopped exporting electricity to Europe. Instead, now there is an import of electricity, which in the event of a loss of generation in power plants due to Russian shelling, makes it possible to reduce the lack of electricity and, accordingly, reduce the amount of restrictions.
Now Ukraine can import up to 700 MW at any time. Before this, the maximum possible import from Europe was 700 MW at night and 600 MW at other times of the day.
“This is the result of our joint work with our European colleagues, who fully understand the importance of imports for the energy system of Ukraine and provide us with comprehensive support in this direction. We will continue to work on expanding technical capabilities for commercial exchange between Ukraine and Europe. The possibility is currently being assessed of a further increase in commercial exchange limits,” the statement said.
Remember that from January 1, Ukraine imports electricity. At the same time, the possible volume of imports depends on the situation with adjustments in the energy system.
