Anthony Marino was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. This was reported on the company’s website on Friday, February 10.
It is indicated that such a decision was made today at the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the NAC.
According to the press service, Marino is an exploration and production specialist with more than 38 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He also has extensive management experience. He served as Executive Director, President and SEO of Vermilion Energy, an international $4 billion exploration and production company.
Currently, Anthony Marino is also the President and CEO of Tenaz Energy. In 2002-2020, he served on the supervisory boards and boards of directors of six companies and organizations. He is a citizen of the United States and Canada.
“The newly elected Supervisory Board of Naftogaz begins its work. This is very important both for ensuring the transparency of processes within the company and for its public perception,” said Aleksey Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz.
It will be remembered that on January 24, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed the members of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz. Among them – two from the state, four – independent.
It is known that the appointment of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz until the end of January is one of the five “beacons” of the IMF monitoring program, as well as one of the conditions for Ukraine to receive 18 billion euros from the EU in 2023 .
At the same time, in October 2021, Naftogaz started looking for new independent members of the Supervisory Board. Then it was said that each member of the supervisory board must have professional ability, higher education and work experience.
