The company is seeking $45 million in damages for shortfalls in gas supplies.
The Czech CEZ initiated arbitration proceedings against the Russian Gazpromby submitting an application under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce. This was announced on February 9 by the company’s press service.
It was noted that CEZ is demanding compensation in the amount of CZK 1 billion ($45.3 million) due to shortages in gas supplies.
The company wants to recover losses resulting from a significant shortage in the supply of Russian blue fuel by 2022.
The arbitration shall take place in Geneva. The application will be considered by an arbitration tribunal consisting of three members.
Earlier, the German concern Uniper initiated proceedings against Gazprom due to lack of gas.
