It is indicated that the ceremony of commencement of construction of the terminal was held in the port city of Wilhelmshaven in Lower Saxony with the participation of the Vice-Chancellor, Minister of Economics Robert Habek.
“We have a good opportunity to do what is considered impossible in Germany: building the LNG terminal in about 10 months and connecting it to the German gas supply system,” Habeck said.
The planned terminal infrastructure is also designed to receive green hydrogen supplies in the future.
“An accelerated energy transfer is the key to a cheap, independent and reliable energy supply,” the Vice Chancellor added.
Recall that the EU plans to replace Russian gas with African. Nigeria, Senegal and Angola have huge potential for LNG supplies, according to the EU.
